Awards for WordLoveWorldLove PDF Print E-mail
KidsFirst! LogoTony Papa  is very proud to announce that WordLoveWorldLove, an Avanti Pictures Production, has received "BEST DOCUMENTARY" (age 8 to 12) at the KIDS FIRST! Best Day and Awards Celebration held in Malibu California.  "I am extremely pleased and honoured by this award because we worked hard to shape the film precisely for that demographic (as well as adults) and to be recognized as hitting the target is really a thrill." says Papa.  WordLoveWorldLove is a heartfelt journey of children from Cleveland Elementary School in North Vancouver connecting with a school in Sri Lanka through their words and art, one year after the devastating tsunami hit the region.

Houston WorldFest AwardThe film was also awarded "BEST EDITING" at the Houston International Film Festival and showed to a very enthusiastic audience at the Calgary International Film Festival.  Tony Papa produced and directed the film.  Donna Williams was creator, co-producer and co-writer.  Andrew Gardner was writer, Rolf Cutts, DOP and the film was edited by Tony Papa, Eliot Piltz and Aren Hansen.  The production was supported by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), TVO, NTV, M Channel and Rose Charities, Vancouver.

Congratulations to all those involved!
