WatermanSwimming along the surface, your equipment seems heavy and constricting. The waves and currents push you around. The sun beats down heating you beyond comfort. Then it is time to dive. Your partner signals his readiness and you release the air from your vest. Slowly sinking, you feel your body and equipment become weightless. Your limbs become agile. You are entering a new world and the excitement fills your heart and mind. You are entering... Waterman's World.

Synopsis

Waterman's World is a dynamic Television hour about some of the globe's most faraway locations and what lies beneath their waters. The popularity of recreational diving is unmatched worldwide. Once a male dominated sport, diving has become fashionable with huge numbers of women who have transformed the sport.

The ocean world is where you will find our guide Stan Waterman who has been at the forefront of scuba diving since its inception as a recreational sport. In the film you will see him and some of his followers as they travel to and dive in some of the world's most remote and exotic locations. Why do they do it? Some just want to getaway. For others it's a chance to visit the world's last wild places catching a glimpse of marine life verging on extinction. Scientists say our planet continues to lose up to three species per day and they predict that will become three species per hour in scarcely a decade. We will learn not only why these people join Waterman on these sometimes dangerous and fantastic water voyages, but also what they are seeing and the story behind some of the earth's most incredible creatures.

Running Time: 47 min.
